Tourist Complex Attracts Vacationers to Cuba
Monday, July 24, 2017

Havana.- The Boca-Guama tourist complex, in Cienaga de Zapata (Zapata Swamp), has been visited by 34,000 vacationers so far this year.

The establishment is located in Laguna del Tesoro (Treasure Lagoon), which has an area of 16 square kilometers and is eight meters deep.

In that area, there are 13 artificial islets and sculptures created by the Cuban artist Rita Longa to represent the life of aboriginal people at the Taino Village.

Sixteen boats carry some 900 tourists to and from the village every day, where they enjoy the beauty of that natural and cultural landscape, with an infrastructure to accommodate 80 guests in 44 rooms in cabins on pillars on the water.

In addition, there is a crocodile breeding farm in the complex to develop the species known as Crocodylus rhombifer, which is exclusive to Cuba.
