Havana.- The Santiago de Cuba-based Estudios Siboney are working on the preservation of the country's musical heritage.
Attached to Empresa de Grabaciones y Ediciones Musicales (EGREM), the studios hosted a specialized workshop on restoration and preservation of tangible phonographic formats.
The event, sponsored by the British Council, was aimed at training those who work with music files in that eastern territory.
The initiative was directed at musicians, audio operators at radio stations, TV producers and other experts, whose have to handle analogical files.
In that regard, the experts noted the importance of restoring and preserving traditional archives, which contained high-quality recordings.
