Cuban Swimmers Give Discrete Performance at World Event

Havana.- Cuba's best swimmers gave a discrete performance at the 17th World Championships of Aquatic Sports, held in Hungary.

The Cuban delegation was made up of Hanser García (50 and 100 meters freestyle), Lázaro Vergara (butterfly) and Luis Vega (medley).

García placed 30th in the 100-meter contest, clocking 49.33 seconds, very far from the medalists, whose times were under 48 seconds.

Meanwhile, Vergara finished in the 38th place, under his best personal time (2:00.04 minutes), clocking 2:03.19 minutes in the 200-meter competition.

Vega clocked 2:08.91 minutes in the 200-meter individual medley event, placing 40th among 44 swimmers.
