Havana.- The Cuban women's softball team will participate in the 9th Pan-American Tournament of that sport in the Dominican Republic.
The Cuban team will play in Pool C, along with Brazil, Guatemala, the Bahamas and Panama.
Pool A is made up of the United States, Venezuela, Colombia, El Salvador and Curacao.
Canada, Mexico, Argentina, the British Virgin Islands and Jamaica will play in Pool C, while Puerto Rico, Peru, Aruba, the Turks and Caicos Islands, and the Dominican Republic are in Pool D.
The teams will try to win one of five slots in the 2018 World Championship in Chiba, Japan, five for the 2019 Pan-American Games in Peru, and seven for the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia.
Cuban experts pointed out that the team's objective is to qualify for all three events.
