New Measures to Rule Private Sector in Cuba
Monday, August 7, 2017

Havana.- Cuba's private sector will adjust its mechanisms after the coming to force of new regulations, in an effort to improve the existing methods.

In a first phase, licenses for several occupations, including house renting, will be suspended temporarily.

Generally, the approved modifications will strengthen the control of self-employment from the municipal to the national levels.

In the particular case of passengers' transportation provided by self-employed workers, the technical inspection of vehicles has started.

In addition, the drivers' records will be reviewed before authorizing that activity and services will be ordered according to routes, terminals or embarkation points.
