Industrial Food Processing Increases in Ciego de Avila
Monday, August 7, 2017

Havana.- Eastern Ciego de Avila province has reported an increase in industrial processing of mango, producing more than 8,000 tons of pulp.

That raw material is used to make concentrated juice, nectars and other aseptic food, so the Combinado Agroindustrial Ceballos is working at full capacity.

Moreover, in support of operations, 16 municipalities in seven provinces have supplied the necessary volumes of high-quality fruit.

Mango is also processed in other plants and small industries in the province, as there is enough fruit to supply them.

Mango is rich in iron, calcium, potassium, iodine, zinc, magnesium, sodium, ten vitamins and phosphorus, and it has antioxidant and anticancer properties.
