Culture and Heritage in Santiago de Cuba
Monday, August 14, 2017

Havana.- Eastern Santiago de Cuba province is promoting the Son de la Loma Patrimonial Road, an initiative that links culture and history.

The proposal is sponsored by Empresa de Grabaciones y Ediciones Musicales EGREM), which is expanding its profile of services by organizing events other than record production.

The initiative includes the Santa Ifigenia Cemetery, where people can visit the Posthumous Trail of Troubadours and the funerary monument to Francisco Repilado (Compay Segundo).

The monument consists of 95 small-format bronze flowers that symbolize each of the years that the popular composer and musician lived.

The option is complemented by visits to Estudios Siboney and the Pepe Sanchez Trova House, in addition to Los Compadres Music Thatch-roof Restaurant.
