Cultural and Historic Values for Tourism in Cienfuegos
Monday, August 14, 2017

Havana.- Central Cienfuegos province has among its cultural and historic attractions the Castle of Our Lady of the Angels of Jagua.

Considered the third major fortress in Cuba, the castle was built at the entrance of the Bay of Cienfuegos in 1745 and still has its drawbridge, which is fully operational.

The castle houses a singular museum that shows in eight halls aspects related to the construction of the fortress and events related to it.

It is also related to the centuries-old legend of the Blue Lady, whose ghost appears at night.

That kind of attraction contributes to raise the interest of vacationers who want to visit the place, an option that combines heritage and tourism.
