Tourist Options in Machu Picchu Assessed |

Lima.- Authorities in the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu are assessing new options to boost tourism while taking advantage of the area's historic values.
In that regard, a modern cable car might be built to carry visitors and as an alternative to bus services.
Experts said that this variant will increase the number of visitors to the citadel and even to the area where the enclave is located.
The assessment shows that the visit area might be enlarged by eight times, with access, entrance and exits through different zones.
At present, access to Machu Picchu is on buses that depart from Aguas Calientes. Another variant is through the so-called Inca Road.
