Cinematheque of Cuba Pays Tribute to British Actress

Havana.- The Cinematheque of Cuba will exhibit a series of films as tribute to the world-renowned British actress Vivien Leigh, who starred in Gone with the Wind.

Her performance as Scarlett O'Hara gave her the 1939 Academy Award (Oscar).

She won a second Oscar for her role of Blanch DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire, where she shared the screen with Marlon Brando.

Others of her films are The Waterloo Bridge, Lady Hamilton, A Yankee in Oxford and Anna Karenina. On the stage, she played such characters as Ofelia, Cleopatra and Juliet.

It should be said that she is also remembered for here personal relationship and marriage with the famous British actor and director Laurence Olivier.
