Veteran Sailor Nélido Manso Returns to Sailing
Monday, August 21, 2017

Havana.- Nélido Manso, a veteran Cuban sailor, has returned to training and competitions after several years of inactivity.

Manso pointed out that his goal is to compete during the current Olympic cycle, in addition to transmitting his experience to the new generations of sailors.

He noted that he is focusing on his physical training, as he masters the technical and tactic aspects of that sport.

On the agenda of events, the priority is the Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla in 2018, where Cuba has possibilities to compete with two sailboats

Nélido Manso and Octavio Lorenzo won the World Championships in Spain in 1999, and the Pan-American games in Havana in 1991, Mar del Plata in 1995 and Winnipeg in 1999, as well as the Central American Games in Ponce in 1993.
