Ciego de Avila Reports Increased Agricultural Production |

Havana.- The agricultural sector in eastern Ciego de Avila province has reported an increase in production, including 71 million eggs in the first semester of 2017.
That volume exceeded the six-month plan and the target is to produce 120 million eggs by late December.
That result is more relevant due to the adverse situation caused by high temperatures and the draught affecting the territory.
In addition, there was a positive balance between the amount of animal feed used and the number of eggs obtained, thus improving efficiency.
Experts noted that nearly 50 percent of the labor force in the agricultural sector consists of women, who take care of the hens, even during the weekends.
