Havana.- Hemodialysis services at the Camilo Cienfuegos Hospital, in central Sancti Spiritus province, benefited from the installation of a water-treatment plant.
The new equipment purifies the water used in hemodialysis, which allows improving the quality of life of patients.
The plant generates hot water for the entire closed system, thus facilitating its own sterilization and preventing the growth of bacteria and the creation of endotoxins.
The plant will start up operation as soon as the feasibility studies being carried out by the Environmental Hygiene Department of the Ministry of Public Health are completed.
The hospital has 20 hemodialysis machines in a service that is also provided by the Joaquin Paneca Hospital in Yaguajay.
