Cuban Divers to Compete in Junior Continental Tournament

Havana.- Cuba will be represented by nine divers at the Pan-American Diving Championships in the junior category, to be held in Canada.

The Cuban delegation includes Anisley García, who expects to improve the bronze medal he won in the previous edition of the event in the individual platform contest.

Most members of the group, made up of four girls and five boys, are under 16 years of age and have won several gold medals at Cuba's School Games.

In addition to García, the women's team also includes of Mirielis Fernández, Brenda Nuviola and Yennifer Medina, while the men's team is made up of Carlos Daniel Ramos, Luis Gustavo Cañabate, Laydel Domínguez, Christian Yoan Morel and José Alfredo Quintana.

The Cuban delegation will train for a week at the venue of the event to compensate for the days of preparation lost due to Hurricane Irma.
