Cuba Boosts Production of Construction Materials
Monday, September 25, 2017

Havana.- Cuba's economy is boosting the local production of construction materials, as part of actions to recuperate the infrastructure damaged by Hurricane Irma.

According to experts, the goal is to bring the construction material plants closer to the communities to meet the people's needs rapidly.

Due to the their proved resistance to hurricanes, ferrocement roofs will also be made, as they were no longer produced because the wire nettings used to make them were imported.

In addition, windows blinds of concrete will be made as well.

The rehabilitation of buildings, roads and houses demands large amounts of construction materials, thus the need to increase local capacities.
