Dominican Republic Reports Increased Hotel Occupancy Rate

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic reported a major increase in the hotel occupancy rate.

According to statistics from the sector, the country has reported the largest hotel occupancy rate over the past 15 years, with nearly 85 percent in Punta Cana.

In addition, tourist authorities announced the incorporation of 7,300 rooms, so the country's lodging potential will increase to 82,500 rooms.

In addition to the rooms under construction, several hotels and resorts are being remodeled to add 2,300 rooms by the end of 2017.

This year, 13 hotels will be inaugurated by international chains, including the Hotel Real Intercontinental Santo Domingo, the Hotel Secrets Cap Cana Resort and Spa and the Luxury Bahía Príncipe Fantasía Hotel.
