Immune-Essay Center Supports Cuba's Healthcare System
Monday, October 9, 2017

Havana.- The Immune-Essay Center has for three decades developed projects for the benefit of the people's health.

The institution has worked nationwide to install a diagnostic technology to detect non-transmissible chronic diseases.

In addition, it has contributed to testing more than four million pregnant women for malformations of the neural tube and made Cuba be the first country in the world to eliminate HIV vertical transmission.

The Center also registered the Umelisa TIR equipment to test newborns for cystic fibrosis.

The institution is also working on molecular biology tests to detect the viruses of hepatitis C and B and human papilloma, and is in the registration phase of rapid tests to detect syphilis, HIV and dengue fever.
