Cuba Reports Increase in Water Reserves |

Havana.- The situation of Cuba's water reserves had improved by September 2017, with 6.446 million cubic meters stored in the country's dams.
According to experts, during the said period, the national rainfall average was 344.9 millimeters, accounting for 185 percent of the monthly historic record.
The provinces that reported the largest records of total rainfalls were Sancti Spiritus with 657.9 millimeters; Cienfuegos with 499.8; Ciego de Avila with 459.8; Camagüey with 411.6, and Villa Clara with 346.4 millimeters.
That way, the increase in stored water was 2.803 billion cubic meters, accounting for 71 percent of the total capacity of the dams.
Of 15 category-one aquifers linked to water supply to the country's major cities and tourist destinations, 13 are at a normal level, one is stable and 12 are increasing.
