Cuban Industry Supports Tourism
Monday, October 23, 2017

Havana.- Several Cuban industrial sectors are supporting tourism, especially the rehabilitation of hotels damaged by Hurricane Irma.

In eastern Ciego de Avila, the Camilo Cienfuegos furniture factory is contributing to the recovery of a dozen hotels in Jardines del Rey (King's Gardens).

Works focus on the repair of the furniture damaged by the heavy rains and strong winds caused by the cyclone.

In that regard, six brigades, made up of carpenters, upholsterers, painters and support personnel, are working full time in Jardines del Rey.

According to the plan, at least 5,400 pieces of furniture have to be repaired and a similar number have to be made for the hotels Flamenco I, II, III-IV, Memory Caribe, Pilar 2, Playa Coco, Sol Coco, Meliá Guillermo, Sol Guillermo and Villa Azul.
