Havana.- Cuban boxers will start a training tour of Europe, where they will fight against tough rivals.
The tour involves an eight-boxer team, including the Olympic champions Julio César La Cruz (81 kg), Arlen López (75 kg) and Roniel Iglesias (69 kg).
Other team members are the world champions Lázaro Alvarez (60 kg) and Erislandy Savón (91 kg), as well as the junior gold medalist Javier Ibáñez (56 kg) and the Central American title holder Yoandry Toirac (+91kg).
The tour includes a training base in the Netherlands, where the Cuban boxers will have their first fights before traveling to the Czech Republic.
The tour will also serve as practice prior to the 8th World Series of Boxing (WSB), scheduled to begin in January 2018, and the Playa Giron Tournament in Cuba in December.
