Havana.- The eastern Cuban province of Holguin has received 200,000 international visitors so far this year, accounting for an interannual increase of 12 percent.
According to sources from the tourism sector, that trend shows the high acceptance of that destination, which offers first line options in nature, adventure and cities.
During the said period, Canada continued to be Cuba's major tourist-sending market, followed by the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy, which have grown substantially as well.
Holguin has 5,400 rooms distributed in four- and five-star hotels mainly in Pesquero, Esmeralda and Guardalavaca beaches.
Moreover, the Frank Pais International Airport handles an average of 80 flights every week from 20 airlines from Canada, the United Kingdom and Germany.
