Havana.- The Cuban men's volleyball team will compete in the World Championships, scheduled for 2018 in Italy and Bulgaria.
The Cuban team was included in pool D, where it will play against Poland, Bulgaria, Iran, Finland and Puerto Rico in the initial round.
This group will play in the Bulgarian city of Varna starting on September 10, 2018.
All teams will play five games and the best four teams in each preliminary zone will go to the second round, where they will compete in two groups of eight teams each.
It should be said that Cuba has participated in 14 world championships since the third edition in 1956 to the latest one in 2014 in Poland, where it finished in the 11th place.
Cuba's best results were in 1990 and 2010, when it won the silver medal, and in 1978 and 1998, when it was the bronze medalist.
