Cuban Chess Players at Tournament in Mexico

Havana.- Thirty Cuban players will participate in the Carlos Torres Chess Tournament in Memoriam in Merida, Mexico.

One of Cuba's participants will be the Grand Master (GM) Lazaro Bruzon, who has an Elo score of 2,600 points and will seek his sixth title in that tournament.

Bruzon, who ranks second in Cuba, won the competition for the first time in 2005 and 2013, and three consecutive times after that.

On this occasion, Cuba will also be represented by Bacallao, Isán Oritz and Yuri González, while other players will be David Antón (Spain), Emilio Córdova (Peru) and Andrey Baryshpolets (Ukraine).

Cuba's delegation also includes the female players Lisandra Ordaz, who will soon receive the International Master (IM) category among men, Maritza Arribas and Oleiny Linares.
