Cuban Cheese Gains Ground in Domestic Market
Monday, December 4, 2017

Havana.- The cheese factory La Vaquita, in eastern Cuba, produced 1,286 tons of that food in its different variants in the first ten months of 2017.

The plant supplies cheese to the tourist sector and the hard-currency domestic market.

It should be said that 1.7 million pesos were invested to improve the equipment and infrastructure of the factory.

La Vaquita makes cream and fresh cheese and yogurt, Santa Cruz and Coral semi-hard cheese, Santa Maria and Gouda cheese, and first- and second-quality cheese.

That way, Cuba's economy prevents spending hard currency to import that food.
