IHG Increases Presence in Latin America
Monday, December 11, 2017

Mexico.- The chain InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) plans to increase its presence in the Latin American and Caribbean markets in a medium term.

According to experts, the objective is to acquire 40 hotels in the region over the next three years, including 28 in Mexico and three in Peru.

In 2018, the company plans to launch the brand Avid, with which it is expected to inaugurate its first hotel in the United States between late 2018 and early 2019.

IHG owns 138 hotels in Mexico and will acquire 28 establishments by 2020, including one in the state of Tlaxcala, where it will open a Holiday Inn hotel.

The group leases, administers or owns about 5,200 hotels, totaling 780,000 rooms, in about 100 countries.
