Havana.- Authorities in the Cuban eastern province of Camagüey expect the execution of at least 30 foreign investment projects this year.
According to experts, the projects will benefit the sectors of tourism, mining, the pharmaceutical industry and biotechnology, health care, energy, sugar and agriculture.
Seven projects involve production of fresh vegetables to supply the domestic market and for export, and nine projects are aimed at increasing chicken meat.
In addition, an exclusive Quality of Life Center will be built in Santa Lucia beach, with participation of the company Comercializadora de Servicios Médicos Cubanos S.A.
The local factory of sorbitol, the only one of its kind in Cuba, is expected to guarantee exports of a new non-traditional product that is used as sweetener.
