More Foreign Holidaymakers Visit Varadero Beach

Havana.- Varadero, Cuba's major coastal resort, received 1.7 million international holidaymaker in 2017.

Tourism authorities pointed out that for the tenth year in a row, Varadero was visited by more than one million vacationers, and Canada was the resort's major tourist-sending market.

Varadero's active rooms total 21,388, after the Hotel Iberostar Bella Vista, owned by the Cuban chain Gaviota, was inaugurated.

In 2018, the new 900-room Hotel Internacional is scheduled for inauguration at a special beach area.

Investments will continue at the Oasis Complex, as part of plans to improve the infrastructure to meet the growing demand from tourists.
