Hydraulic Networks Repaired in Havana
Monday, January 15, 2018

Havana.- The Cuban capital benefited in 2017 from a program to repair hydraulic networks, as part of a long-term strategy to improve services.

In that regard, more than 600,000 inhabitants benefited from 70 works to improve services, thus meeting 662 demands and 289 complaints by the people.

The municipalities where the works had the greatest impact were Guanabacoa, Boyeros, 10 de Octubre, La Lisa, La Habana del Este, Arroyo Naranjo and Marianao.

In addition, progress was made in the programs to build desalinizing plants, repair pumping stations and install water meters.

The general plan consists of rehabilitating the networks, interconnecting systems to reschedule the cycles and periods of distribution, and detecting alternative water sources.
