Havana.- The Cuban economy is promoting the development of renewable energy sources through the construction of facilities for its use.
In this direction, the construction of a workshop to make wind turbine towers is planned.
The project will be executed in the eastern province of Las Tunas, as a result of an agreement with China.
For this purpose, in 2018, 90 percent of the workshop's equipment must be received, including quality control, automatic and semiautomatic cutting and welding machines, compressors, chamfering machines and forklifts, among others.
The investment in Metunas is designed to manufacture 60 turbine towers of up to 2.5 megawatts every year, with the possibility to assume the production of tanks, chimneys and ducts.
