Monday, February 19, 2018

Havana.- The anti-doping control laboratory in Havana, founded 17 years ago, stands out for its significant contribution to the development of sports in the country and abroad.

According to the report on activities in 2017, the facility achieved its fifteenth consecutive reaccreditation, in addition to processing a total of 4,729 samples during the year.

The center was in charge of anti-doping tests at events such as the Central American Games in Nicaragua and the world championships of swimming and weightlifting for disabled people in Mexico, as well as the professional football leagues of Bolivia, Ecuador and Peru, and cycling competitions such as the tours of Costa Rica, Santo Domingo and Tachira.

The laboratory is paying special attention to possible members of the Cuban delegation to the Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia, this year.
