Havana.- The Cuban capital is hosting this month the 51st edition of the Cerro Pelado-Granma International Wrestling Tournament, at which competitions will take place in the Greco-Roman, freestyle and women's categories.
The event will bring together representatives from Germany, Hungary, the United States, Mexico, Venezuela, Chile, Honduras, Spain and Slovenia, plus Cuba.
experts pointed out that the tournament will contribute to the Cuban wrestlers' training, as the Caribbean island will compete with three athletes in each division.
In addition, each competitor fighting for medals will have to compete for two days, one for the eliminatory round and another one for the finals.
Meanwhile, the Greco-Roman modality will award points for the world ranking, which implies the participation of some world-class fighters in the tournament.
