Cuban Judokas to Compete in Tournament in Europe

Havana.- Cuba will participate with six competitors in the Grand Slam of Judo in Dusseldorf, which will bring together representatives from seven dozen countries.

The Cuban delegations includes Kaliema Antomarchi (78 kilograms), bronze medalist in the World Championship in Budapest in 2017.

Other delegation members are José Armenteros, world runner-up in Cheliabinsk-2014, and Andy Granda, fifth place in the world championship for open weights in Marrakech in2017, who will compete in the 100-kg division.

The list of Cuban participants also includes Melissa Hurtado (48 kg), bronze medalist at the Zagreb Youth World Championship-2017; Maylín del Toro (63 kg) and Jorge Martínez (81 kg).

On this occasion, Cuba's major absentees are Idalis Ortiz (+78 kg), Olympic and world multi-medalist, and Asley González (90 kg), Olympic runner-up in London-2012.
