Cuba Implements Strategy against Buccal Cancer |

Havana.- The Cuban health system is implementing a prevention strategy against several diseases, including buccal cancer.
In the case of the eastern province of Santiago de Cuba, the disease is the main concern in the field of stomatology, due to its higher incidence in 2017.
Therefore, actions include differentiated care, with activities for health promotion and education in the communities, along with the call for oral self-examination.
This procedure must be carried out at home and people are called to visit the dentist if they find any kinds of injuries in the mouth or lips.
The most worrying signs in the oral cavity are whitish, blackish or red lesions, and it is important to avoid influence of risk factors.
