Experts Evaluate Sleep Disorders in Cuba
Monday, February 19, 2018

Havana.- The Cuban capital hosted an international workshop on sleep disorders, with participation of local and foreign experts.

According to organizers, specialists from Cuba, the United States, Panama and Spain, among other countries, took part in the event.

The forum was held at the International Center for Neurological Restoration (CIREN) and was organized in conjunction with the Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery (INN).

Cuba presented the results in treating patients suffering from obstructive sleep apnea with a mandibular advance device developed in the country.

With this procedure, the patient has to sleep on one of his/her side, there is no medication for the disease and the devices are placed to improve breathing.
