Monday, March 12, 2018

Havana.- Ten Cuban boxers will participate in the qualifying tournament to be held in Tijuana, Mexico, prior to the Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia.

The Cuban roster features the Olympic champions Robeisy Ramírez (56 kilograms), Roniel Iglesias (69), Arlen López (75) and Julio César La Cruz (81), who will be joined by the three-time world champion Lázaro

Alvarez (60).

The delegation includes the world champions Johanys Argilagos (49), Yosbany Veitía (52), Andy Cruz (64) and Erislandy Savón (91), together with the super heavyweight José Angel Larduet.

At the event, in which the first eight boxers in each division will qualify for the continental games, Cuba is expected to maintain its hegemony.

In the Central American Games of Guadalajara in 2014, Cuban boxers won nine of the ten titles.
