Havana.- The Elite Archery Tournament, held in Santiago de Cuba, was dominated by the representatives of the eastern region.
Elizabeth Rodriguez and Juan Carlos Stevens won the individual competitions and the mixed duo.
Rodriguez was scored 625 points in the 70-meter double contest (two rounds of 36 shots at that distance), in addition to winning the Olympic round and the mixed duo competition.
Meanwhile, Stevens won the 70-meter double contest, with 650 points, and was followed by Hugo Franco with 647 points and Adrián Puente. She also won contest by pairs.
Both archers are in satisfactory conditions for upcoming international events, including the Grand Prix of Cancun, Mexico, and the Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia.
Twenty men and 15 women from seven provinces participated in the Elite Archery Tournament, including 23 athletes from the national shortlisted team.
