Monday, March 12, 2018

Havana.- Cuba's best judokas will participate in the Open Tournament in Lima (Peru), where they will try to earn points for the ranking in that sport.

Cuba's delegation is made up of ten competitors headed by Asley González (90 kilograms), Olympic runner-up in London-2012 and world champion of Rio de Janeiro-2013.

Other delegation members are Kevin Fernández and Yandry Torres (60 kilograms), Osniel Solís (66 kg) and Magdiel Estrada (73 kg).

The women's team is made up of Janisleidis Ponciano (48 kg), Yurisleidis Hernández (52), Maylín del Toro (63), Olga Masferrer (70) and Santa Virgen Romero (78). They will be coached by Félix Portuondo.

It should be noted that the contest awards 100 points to the winners in each division in the world ranking and will be the first of four continental competitions to qualify for Pan-American Games in 2019.
