Cuban Cyclist Stands Out in World Route Tour
Monday, March 19, 2018

Havana.- The Cuban cyclist Arlenis Sierra, a member of the Astana Women's Club of Kazakhstan, finished seventh in the Ronde Van Drenthe, the second phase of the World Women's Route Cycling Tour of the International Cycling Union.

Sierra began with difficulties in the track in the event, in addition to falling when there was barely one kilometer left to the finish line.

The Cuban cyclist's agenda of competitions includes the third scoring race for the World Tour, called the Alfredo Binda Trophy, in Comune di Cittiglio, in Italy.

The Astana club also includes the Cuban cyclist Heidy Praderas, who is working to gain experience against world-level adversaries.

Praderas and Sierra are also training for the Pan-American Road Championships in May in Argentina, and the Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia.
