Technological Surveillance for Health in Cuba

Havana.- The Medical Biophysics Center, based in the eastern city of Santiago de Cuba, promotes the processing of physiological signals to assess human health.

The institution applies methodologies and algorithms that analyze the signs of electrical and muscular activity in the human body, which makes it possible to diagnose diseases.

In that direction, procedures such as magnetic resonance and plethysmography stand out. The latter measures pressure and volume changes to diagnose pulmonary or cardiovascular diseases.

In addition, muscle movements and rehabilitation, among other processes, are analyzed.

The Center has also developed laboratory equipment for the analysis of the walking, with algorithms to studying various motor dysfunctions.
