Havana.- The 2018 National Dance Award in Cuba was granted to the former dancer Miguel Iglesias, who is the current director of the company Contemporary Dance of Cuba (DCC).
The decision was made by a jury made up of prominent figures like Carlos Acosta, Alberto Méndez, Santiago Alfonso, Vivian Martínez Tabares, Bárbara Balbuena and Nieves Laferté.
It is worth mentioning that DCC has an international projection thanks to collaborative projects with foreign choreographers such as Jan Linkens, Kenneth Kuanstrom and Luca Bruni.
Iglesias' experience includes participation in several companies, including the Ballet of Cuban Television and the Ballet of Camagüey.
Since he assumed the direction of the group, Iglesias has had an intense creative activity that is reflected in more than 300 world premieres by Cuban and foreign choreographers.
