Cuban City Welcomes Artisans
Monday, June 11, 2018

Havana.- The city of Trinidad, in the central Cuban province of Sancti Spiritus, welcomed experts from 11 nations who participated in the World Council of Handicrafts.

The specialists' goal was to participate in workshops or in the public spaces that have become places of creation to assess the final declaration of Trinidad as a City of Handicrafts.

They also toured sites of historic and socio-cultural interest, such as the Manaca Iznaga farm house, in the so-called Valle de los Ingenios (Sugar Mills' Valley).

The work by the specialized international organization is aimed at rescuing and preserving crafts at the world level.

If this condition is granted to the so-called museum city of Cuba, doors will be open to the creation of new horizons of cooperation and association with the artisans from Ibero-America.
