Havana.- Cuban boating aims to achieve eight of the titles in dispute in the Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla (Colombia).
The Cuban delegation's main cards in the C2 boat are Fernando Dayán Jorge and Serguei Torres.
Cuban authorities also aspire gold medals in the men's C1, K1, K4 and K2 events, with other well-known canoeists like Reinier Torres and Fidel Vargas.
In total, 12 Cuban canoeists have registered, in a sport in which Colombia will take 15 competitors, Mexico 14, Venezuela 13 and the Dominican Republic seven.
All the tests will be direct final and it has already been confirmed that due to a lack of participation (five countries or more are needed) the C2 and K4 races in the women's category cannot be held.
In Veracruz 2014, Cuba dominated the canoeing competitions with eight gold medals and four second places, leaving Mexico in the second place with three titles, four silver medals and three bronze medals.
