Environmental Strategy for Cuban Beaches
Monday, June 11, 2018

Havana.- The central Cuban province of Villa Clara is developing an environmental strategy aimed at preserving beaches.

Specialists from the Center for Environmental Studies and Services (CESAM), are studying and seeking methods to safeguard beaches and coastal communities.

Among the projects are the environmental improvement of El Salto, Ganuza and Sierra Morena, where three camping facilities operate.

Moreover, in the first four months of 2018, 800,000 cubic meters of sand were dumped in keys Las Brujas and Santa María.

Coupled with this, factors that accelerate the erosion process on beaches and dunes are eliminated, with a view to guaranteeing the quality of the resorts.
