Monday, June 11, 2018

Havana.- Cuba has consolidated its position as a cruise destination, with an increasing number of shipping companies that include the Caribbean island in its itineraries.

According to statistics from the sector, 17 companies with 25 vessels operate in Cuba, mobilizing more than 500,000 holidaymakers during the season.

In addition, for the 2018 current fiscal year, the incorporation of new and exclusive cruises is expected, with possibilities of surpassing 700,000 travelers.

Cuba's major ports for cruise ships are in Havana, Cienfuegos, Santiago de Cuba and Cayo Largo del Sur, with international arrivals and departures, as well as Casilda, Antillas, Puerto Francés and María La Gorda.

Besides, an investment program was announced to increase the number of cruise terminals in Havana by 2024, as well as operations by the Turkish Global Ports Holding Corporation in Havana.
