Havana.- The Cuban men's and women's hockey teams are fulfilling a training program in the Dominican Republic.
The stay in that country is part of the last training stage for the 23rd Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia.
As part of their training, the women's team, regional champions in Veracruz 2014, will play against the local players, runners-up of that event.
The men, led by Alain Bardají López and Nelson Ginorio Vegas, will return just days before the trip to the venue of the regional sports event.
Hockey is the only collective sport in which Cuba maintain its hegemony in both men's and women's events, since its first participation in Havana-1982 in the oldest multi-sport regional competition on the planet.
