Cuban Health System Faces Population Aging |

Havana.- The Cuban health system is facing the problem of population aging in a country with 20.01 percent of the population over 60 years of age.
Added to this, 41 municipalities reported a number of deaths higher than births, a trend that points to a lower birth rate.
In this way, the number of people entering active working age is reduced, while a higher number comes out of that category, due to a natural process.
Faced with this scenario, specialists consider the option of strengthening care for infertile couples, of whom there is an estimated 160,000 in the country.
If solutions are achieved for at least 10,000 of them, the trend towards population aging can be reversed, hence the need to extend medical care at all levels.
