Heritage of Cienfuegos Highlighted |

Havana.- The Historic Urban Center of the city of Cienfuegos highlights its patrimonial legacy when celebrating the 13th anniversary of its declaration as Humankind's Cultural Heritage Site.
The condition was granted on July 15, 2005, to some 70 hectares of the Historic Heart of the city, due to its exceptional and universal values.
Of the 35 historic cities that have been registered as Humankind's Cultural Heritage Sites in Latin America, only Cienfuegos corresponds to the 19th century.
According to experts, this recognition is a call to safeguard the identity of the city, as well as an incentive to preserve heritage sites.
The celebration includes a photo exhibition by the winners of the second edition of Patrimonial Lens, among other cultural activities.
