Systems Recovered in Cuban Sugar Industry
Monday, July 16, 2018

Havana.- Experts in the eastern Cuban province of Granma are working to guarantee the proper functioning of the systems involved in sugar production.

In this regard, the cooling towers used to prepare torula, CO2 and rum were recovered, since the operations in the sector are carried out at different temperatures.

The cost of importing a Brazilian-made cooling tower is about 100,000 dollars, while the cost of its repair is around 16,000 pesos.

In addition, there are plans to repair the pumps from the boilers, which are very important means, because many productions depend on them.

With this last action, some 200,000 pesos in national currency were saved, and the lost time due to breakages was reduced.
