Monday, August 6, 2018

Havana.- Viengsay Valdés, first ballerina of the National Ballet of Cuba, will participate as a guest in the 15th edition of the World Ballet Festival of Tokyo (Japan).

Valdés will dance with Daniel Camargo, from Brazil, who is the principal dancer of the Dutch National Ballet, in "Muñecos" (Puppets), a contemporary choreography Cuban maestro Alberto Méndez.

According to experts, this choreography is part of a segment of the program of the event that will take place from August 8 to 12t.

For Valdés, it is the third time that she participates in this event, which brings together the best companies in the world.

The Tokyo Festival, held every three years, is one of the most important ballet events, with participation of the most talented and recognized dancers at present.

Its first edition in 1976 brought together prima ballerina assoluta Alicia Alonso, from Cuba; Margot Fonteyn, from the United Kingdom, and Maya Plisetskaya, from the Soviet Union.
