Cuba to Host Rumba Festival |

Havana.- Several Cuban cities will host the 10th edition of the Route of Rumba International Festival, which will be dedicated to local dance expressions.
According to organizers, the activities will be take place in communities in Havana, Pinar del Rio, Matanzas, Cienfuegos, Trinidad, Ciego de Avila, Camagüey, Guantanamo and Santiago de Cuba.
Experts noted that participants will learn about the importance of rumba, an intangible cultural heritage of humankind.
Academics, professionals and amateur artists from Cuba and other countries who are interested in contributing and sharing professional experiences are expected to attend the event.
Rumba is a genre of traditional music that emerged in Cuba in the 19th century. It has African roots and is considered the mother of several Latin rhythms and dances.
